GIT Labor-Fachzeitschrift (issue 6/2026) features GeQD in the article "Skalierbare Einzelphotonendetektion – GeQD detects single photons of short-wave infrared radiation". The piece describes our approach of developing germanium-on-silicon SPADs for the time-resolved detection of single photons in the near and short-wave infrared – without cryogenic cooling, with a focus on economical scalability and established semiconductor processes. It also introduces our laboratory demonstrator with four detector channels, application fields from quantum technology to spectroscopy and medical technology, and our four-person founding team combining semiconductor technology, integrated circuits, optics and business development.
