Paris in the spotlight of quantum technologies: GeQD at the European Quantum PhD Days and Viva Tech
Maurice Wanitzek presents the development milestones of GeQD's Ge-on-Si technology so far.
Maurice Wanitzek spent this week in Paris in dialogue with quantum researchers from across Europe. At the European Quantum PhD Days, PhD candidates working on quantum communication, quantum sensing and quantum computing came together to discuss current results, open questions and shared roadmaps. For GeQD, this was a valuable opportunity to position our work on germanium-based single-photon detectors within the European research landscape and to identify concrete entry points for joint projects. Afterwards, Maurice visited Viva Tech, focusing on exchange with start-ups, industry partners and investors from the quantum and photonics ecosystem. GeQD roadmap: booth, stage, sponsor… ;-) These encounters are essential for us and bring the still-young quantum industry closer together, make complementary capabilities visible, and accelerate the path from research into scalable applications.
