We are looking for student assistants to help shape a deep-tech startup with us – in design as well as hardware development.

Student Assistant (HiWi, m/f/d) – PCB Design with KiCAD

Thoughtful PCB design plays a key role in modern sensor systems and electronics development. To implement and advance our hardware, we are looking for support in PCB design with KiCAD – from schematic creation to the finished layout. You will work on real hardware projects and support the development of compact, reliable and well-integrable electronics solutions for experimental setups. Employment is as a student assistant (HiWi) via the University of Stuttgart.

Your tasks

• Schematic creation and PCB layout in KiCAD

• Selection and integration of electronic components

• Literature and component research to support design decisions

• Support with commissioning and testing of prototypes

• Firmware development for microcontroller-based systems

Requirements

• Experience in PCB design (schematics & layout)

• Understanding of electronic circuits and components

• Independent and structured way of working

• Optional: basic knowledge of microcontroller programming
